How Long Can I Expect My Artificial Grass to Last?
It should have a life expectancy of around 20 to 25 years. Of course, this depends largely on where it is located, how much use it gets, and whether you have chosen a top brand from All Season Turf or a lesser brand from another company. We guarantee the installation for a year and the company that manufacturers the turf provides their own multi-year warranty.
Does it Require a Lot of Maintenance?
For the most part, you will be cleaning rather than maintaining your artificial grass. You will remove organic materials, generally with a leaf blower. If there are heavier objects then a rake can be used. High-traffic areas might start to look worn after a long period of use. In that case, use a stiff, natural bristle broom to brush the lawn and fluff it back up. If you have a pet, you will remove solid pet waste the same way you would on natural grass and the urine will drain.
Will Artificial Grass Mildew?
In normal circumstances, mold and mildew are not issues. However if there is standing water for several days, or other liquids that are not able to drain away, then mildew has the potential to develop. You can prevent this with simple household products or vinegar applications. When we install your turf, we use a drainage system that allows water to drain easily – standing water would only be an issue in an extreme weather situation.
Can Artificial Grass Be Stained?
We have yet to find anything that can stain it. If you spill something sticky, you should hose it off to prevent dirt and bugs from sticking to the blades but you do not have to worry about it becoming stained. Even if you get paint on it, you can use paint remover to first soften the pain and then just rinse it off with a hose.
