Do Not Allow Smoking on the Grass

Our artificial grass is treated to be resistant to fire but it can melt. You won’t find it melting in hot weather, but if something very hot comes into direct contact with it, it can melt. This is one of the reasons not to allow smoking on or near the grass. Second, the cigarette butts thrown on this type of lawn will make it look dirty and unattractive.

Do Not Grill on the grass or Near the Edge of the Grass

If you have your artificial grass in the back yard and plan to do some grilling at your party, make sure that you are not grilling on the grass or near the edge of it. Once again, while the normal heat of the day will not affect your turf, if a burning piece of charcoal falls onto it, it could become damaged or melted. Keep the grilling to your deck or another area away from the grass.

Invest in a Screen Cover if You Have a Fire Pit

Fire pits can be used with artificial grass but you should be careful. The best idea is to get a screen cover for your fire pit. In fact, this is smart whether you have natural or artificial grass as the screen cover will work to keep embers from starting a house fire or wildfire.

Do Not Put Any Spikes into the Lawn

You cannot use spikes to tie up Fido, stake a tent in the backyard, or otherwise stick something through the turf. However, anything less than penetrating will be fine. For example, you are welcome to wear your highest heeled stiletto without worrying about it damaging your grass.
